Gucci Techno Horsebit White Large Tote Handbag: Geek or Eek?

When talking about Gucci handbags, we can list those out-there styles and edgy designs which only go so far. Yet, at the end, it`s got to be fantastic. You must have been stunned, so many times, by the eccentric performers like Lady Gaga, who are so aesthetically successful, because they — in the best of times — ride the line between crazy and cute, edgy and elegant. And this is also the case when it comes to handbags. Some people think that this Gucci Techno Horsebit White Large Tote marks a downfall, because it forfeits elegance in favor of eccentricity, and ends up just looking silly and junky. And they say the only way this bag could possibly look good is when you squint really hard to make all of the ghastly details disappear.

Indeed, it is not easy to recognize it as a Gucci bag at first sight, since nothing on it tells you that, except for the classic Gucci tassels with bamboo details and the embossed GG canvas that can’t not be seen clearly in distance. But the basic elements of this bag are totally fine. But what ruins it, is the awful conglomeration of “techno” flourishes that make this look like some bad sci-fi movie. Yes, the knotted strap is inventive, sure, but just adds to the horrible business of it all. It will be perfect without these these unnecessary stuff.

It’s true that sometimes designers make bold designs and strike gold with something that just works. But this Gucci Techno Horsebit is one of those unfortunate cases of too much weird, but not enough fabulous, although I myself am not a conservative handbag traditionalist. But this story tells us that sometimes big fashion houses can also be tasteless. But that`s just my own opinion. What do you think? Is it Geek or is it eek?
